Files
You can upload any type of file to Dushed. You can open a file on its own, or use it in a flashcard, a note, or a bookmark.
To upload or edit files, you need the Pro plan or the trial. On the Free plan, you can still open and delete your files. See Pricing.
Upload a file
- In the menu, open Files, then Add.
- In File, choose the file.
- If you want, open Comments and tags, and add comments or tags. You write comments in Markdown.
- Select Upload file.
Rules for uploads:
- The file must not be empty. Its name must not contain
#. - The file must not be larger than 30 MB.
- Dushed changes the name to lower case, and changes spaces and hyphens to underscores. For example,
Africa Map-2024.PNGbecomesafrica_map_2024.png. - If you upload a file that has the same content as a file that you already have, Dushed keeps only the file that you already have.
You can also upload files in the File references field when you add or edit a flashcard, a note, or a bookmark. That field offers images, audio, video, PDF, text, and JSON files. To upload a file of another type, use the Files page, then refer to it.
Open a file
In the menu, open Files, then List. To open a file in a new tab, select its name.
These types of file open in your browser: images (GIF, JPEG, PNG, and WebP), PDF, audio, video, and text. Text files show as plain text. Other types of file download to your computer.
Use a file in other items
- To connect a file to a flashcard, a note, or a bookmark, see References.
- To show an image in a flashcard or a note, see Images.
- To refer to one page of a PDF, see References. Most browsers open the PDF at that page.
Edit a file
- In the list, select Edit next to the file.
- Change the Name, Comments, or Tags.
- To change the content, choose a Replacement file. The name stays the same. The replacement must not be the same as another file that you already have.
- Select Save changes.
Delete a file
- In the list, select Delete next to the file.
- Type
yes, then select Delete file. You cannot undo this.
When you delete a file, Dushed also removes the references to it from your other items. If the file is an image in a flashcard or a note, the image stops showing.
