Dushed documentation
Dushed is one private library for the things that you read and learn. It keeps your flashcards, notes, bookmarks, Kindle highlights, web feeds, and files in one place. You can connect these items to each other with references.
Start here
- Create an account. Your account starts with a free trial of the Pro plan. You do not need a payment card.
- Add your first item, or import the data that you already have. For example, you can import an Anki deck, your Kindle highlights, or the bookmarks from your browser. See Import and export.
Guides
- Flashcards: write flashcards in Markdown, review them with spaced repetition, and import them from Anki.
- Notes: write notes in Markdown, and add images and files to them.
- Bookmarks: save web pages, and import bookmarks from your browser or from other services.
- Kindle highlights: import highlights and notes from Kindle Reader or from a Kindle device.
- Web feeds: follow websites with RSS, Atom, and JSON feeds.
- Files: upload files, open them, and use them in other items.
- Markdown: the text formatting that Dushed supports.
- Import and export: the file formats for each type of item.
Plans
On the Free plan, you can use bookmarks. On the Pro plan, you can use every type of item. On every plan, you can read, export, and delete the items that you already have. See Pricing.
Tags
A tag is a short word that you add to items to put them in a group. You can add tags to flashcards, notes, bookmarks, web feeds, and files.
- Separate tags with commas. Dushed also splits tags at spaces, so
machine learningbecomes two tags. To make one tag from two words, join them with an underscore, for examplemachine_learning. - Dushed changes tags to lower case, and changes hyphens to underscores.
- If a tag is a web address, Dushed uses the name of the website. For example,
https://example.com/pagebecomesexample.com. - Dushed adds the tag
defaultto every item.
In Browse and Custom review, you can choose flashcards by their tags.
References
A reference connects an item to a web page, to another item in Dushed, or to a file. Flashcards, notes, and bookmarks can have references.
In the URL references field, you can enter one or more of these. Separate them with commas or spaces.
- The address of a web page, for example
https://example.org. - The address of a flashcard, note, bookmark, or file in Dushed. Copy it from the address bar of your browser.
- One page of a PDF. If you upload the PDF in the same form, enter its name and the page number, for example
report.pdf#page=3. If you uploaded the PDF before, enter its address in Dushed with#page=XXXat the end; for examplehttps://dushed.com/show-file/file_BdNh?name=sales.pdf#page=18.
Do not enter only the name of a file, such as report.pdf. Dushed reads it as the web address https://report.pdf.
In the File references field, choose one or more files to upload. Dushed adds each file to your Files and connects it to the item.
If flashcard A refers to flashcard B, Dushed also makes flashcard B refer to flashcard A.
When you delete an item, Dushed also removes the references to it from your other items.
